Risk factors for autoimmune hemolytic anemia in children with transfusion-dependent thalassemia at a tertiary referral hospital
A cross-sectional study
Keywords:
transfusion-dependent thalassemia, autoimmune hemolytic anemia, risk factors, children, anemiaAbstract
Repeated transfusions of children with transfusion-dependent thalassemia (TDT) save their lives while causing complications such as the development of autoimmune hemolytic anemia (AIHA). Studies regarding this matter have not yet been extensively reviewed. Therefore, we aim to assess the risk factors of developing AIHA in children with TDT.
